Cfast, reshaping and whitening

Mr I CP Cfast, whitening

Mr I saw Cathleen Perrin for a free faster orthodontic consultation because he was unhappy with the alignment of his upper and lower front teeth.

Cathleen performed a thorough assessment and determined that Cfast® cosmetic braces would be suitable to move his front teeth into position. They also discussed whitening to brighten Mr I’s smile after straightening.

Impressions were made of Mr I’s top and bottom teeth and sent to the Cfast SmileTru laboratory to make his bespoke Cfast® cosmetic braces.

In order to have sufficient space for Mr I’s teeth to move into position, interproximal reduction (IPR) was needed to gently reshape the enamel on some of Mr I’s teeth. This is a painless and minimally invasive procedure, where a file, disc or bur are used to gently remove some enamel to create space for the teeth to move into position.

Cathleen then precisely bonded the tooth coloured brackets into position on Mr I’s teeth, ensuring correct placement for the system to work effectively. Thin nickel-titanium wires were then clipped into the brackets, putting a gentle force on the teeth to move them into position.

Mr I returned each month for new wires if needed and to monitor the progression of movement. Once his top teeth had been moved into position the Cfast brackets were removed; his bottom teeth needed slightly longer, and special attachments were used to fine tune movement.

After several months both his top and bottom front teeth were straightened, the Cfast brackets removed and Mr I was delighted!

Whitening trays were made to fit Mr I’s newly straightened teeth. He was shown how to apply whitening gel to the trays and fit them in place, and took them home to apply the gel and wear for 2–4 hours a day (or overnight) until he achieved the brighter shade desired, in around 2–3 weeks.

Cathleen then performed some edge bonding on two teeth to improve the overall symmetry of his smile.

Mr I has fixed and clear removable retainers to keep his teeth in their newly aligned positions and has designated whitening trays to top up the whitening when he wants to brighten his smile.

Mr I was delighted with his treatment and left the following review:

Mr I

I had a ‘fast ortho’ treatment at Elmsleigh House. Cathleen [Perrin], my dentist, was great, very calm and professional and obviously very experienced. She explained everything very clearly at the beginning, and her standard of work was excellent throughout the treatment.

The results were amazing, and I was very very pleased with the outcome. In fact, the results were so good that Elmsleigh House asked to use a photo of my teeth in their orthodontic brochure!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Elmsleigh House (and Cathleen if you are considering faster orthodontics) for any dental work” Mr I.
