Few people are fortunate to have naturally straight teeth, but there is no longer any need to put up with crooked, gappy or misaligned teeth for the rest of your life now. If you are fed up with the appearance of your teeth, have you considered having braces?
Braces are generally used to straighten children's teeth, but modern advances in methods and materials mean that you can benefit from the latest methods of teeth straightening too. Having crooked and uneven teeth can affect your feelings of self-confidence; you may not want to smile very often, especially in photographs.

Braces straighten teeth by applying gentle, continuous pressure to the misaligned teeth; over time, they gradually move into a better position. Here at our practice in Farnham, braces are being used to help more of our adult patients look and feel better about themselves.

Say hello to straighter teeth

Perhaps like many adults you would like to have straighter teeth, but you might be put off by the thought of having to wear traditional braces worn by children. Things have changed fortunately. Modern methods and materials now offer you practical and unobtrusive alternatives, which fit easily into your everyday routine. Depending on the issues that need to be resolved, you may be offered braces that are fitted to just the front four to six teeth only. These braces work relatively quickly, so within a few weeks to a few months your teeth will be looking great.

Apart from looking good, straighter teeth may help to maintain or improve your oral health; straight teeth are generally easier to care for. Sometimes problems with badly aligned teeth can result in excessive wear and tear on individual teeth, as well as strain on the joints of the jaw. Once the teeth have been re-aligned, a fixed retainer will be fitted behind your teeth to ensure that they remain in their new position.
