It could be that you have lost one tooth, several teeth or all your natural teeth; this can affect your smile, your ability to eat your favourite foods, your self-esteem and your health.

Dental implants are the best long-term solution to missing teeth for most people. They allow people to eat, talk and smile with confidence, knowing that their replacement teeth appear natural and their facial contours are preserved. This is important as when you are missing teeth, your gum and bone shrink away, resulting in signs associated with extreme ageing. By placing dental implants, the jaw bone is stimulated sufficiently to maintain a healthy, vital structure.

The dental implant team at Elmsleigh House - Hugh Cowley, Kit Spears and Manoj Tank - previously led by clinic owner Tim Thackrah, have completed specific and enhanced training in dental implants and have extensive experience placing and restoring dental implants using systems that are recognised for their quality, and techniques that ensure they will last. We accept referrals from other dentists who value our expertise and long-lasting results.

Your dental implant consultation

Whether you book in directly or have been referred to Elmsleigh House by your dentist, your first appointment is for an hour-long dental implant consultation with one of our experienced implant team.
Usually digital x-ray pictures and colour photographs are taken and a thorough clinical dental assessment performed. A cone-beam CT scan may be taken, which produces exceptional three-dimensional images to inform treatment; this is the very latest in dental technology. It may be that you first need a tooth extracted before treatment, or you may have some bone loss or gum shrinkage due to teeth lost previously.

Whatever your dental situation, we will answer any questions and advise you on the solution that would best suit you, taking your health, cosmetic and financial needs into consideration.

Once agreed, this will be written up and sent to you as your personal treatment plan, detailing all stages of treatment and costs involved. We also offer staged payments to spread the cost. We guarantee your quoted fees will not change throughout treatment, ensuring you are happy with the result.

After a very anxious night before the start of my implant and being very nervous when arriving at my appointment, I was pleasantly surprised how pain free it was thanks to the expertise of Mr Hugh Cowley. He really put me at ease from the very start and is very caring and professional. All the staff at Elmsleigh House are so welcoming and friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone with dental problems to make this their first choice" Mrs V.

"At every stage of my treatment there was a detailed explanation of what would be done before any work commenced, which was then carried out in a very careful and professional way. Kit Spears is a real expert in dental implants and I would not hesitate to recommend him and Elmsleigh House to anyone seeking top quality dental care." Mrs D.

Some patients talk about their dental implant treatment at Elmsleigh House

dentalphobia-logo-whiteIf you are apprehensive about dental treatment, we offer exceptional understanding, expertise and a range of sedation options; Hugh Cowley is our Dental Phobia Certified dentist - click here to verify. As we are unable to certify the clinic as a whole, we chose Hugh to be Dental Phobia certified because of his sedation qualifications and knowledge. However, all our dentists have experience dealing with nervous patients and will do all they can to put you at ease.

Our team fully adhere to the Training Standards for Implant Dentistry, updated in November 2016, for both implant dentistry as well as for the implant training courses we run for other dentists. By raising the standards of implant dentistry and training courses, this ensures all dentists offering implant dentistry are highly skilled, knowledgeable and will deliver the best results possible. Click here to read the Standards in full.
