Modern dentures: Farnham tooth replacement options

September 14, 2016

Dentures have been used for centuries to replace missing teeth. Look at some of the early versions and you may be alarmed at how little resemblance they bear to natural teeth, as well as at their crudeness. However, times have changed, and Farnham dental clinic Elmsleigh House is proud to offer thoroughly modern denture options, designed to look and function much like natural teeth.

Any dentist will stress to you the importance of replacing missing teeth, for both your oral and general health. Dentures provide a cost-effective solution, which can be fully customised to suit your individual needs.

At Elmsleigh House Dental Clinic in Farnham, we are fortunate to benefit from the skills and expertise of our Clinical Dental Technician, Frank Johnson. Whether you need full or partial dentures, Frank will custom-design your new teeth to fit precisely, creating definition to your mouth and your smile, and will make sure that they both look and act in a similar fashion to natural teeth.

Farnham denture options

There are two different types of dentures available at Elmsleigh House Dental Clinic in Farnham. When you come in for your consultation with Frank, he will talk you through both options so that you can choose the one to best suit your requirements.

The two denture options at our Farnham dental clinic are:

Premier Dentures

Hand-crafted to reproduce an accurate representation of your smile with the aid of digital imaging, photographs from the past, and a range of special measurements, these dentures look so natural that most people will find it hard to believe they are false teeth.

Essential Dentures

Hard plastic teeth are set on a strong acrylic base, with each tooth individually constructed from three layers of resin for a natural appearance. These dentures are designed to be resistant to both stains and breakage.

To ensure your new teeth stay permanently comfortable, we recommend using dental implants to stabilise them. Small titanium screws placed directly in your jaw bone in a small operation at our Farnham clinic, dental implants act as replacements for natural tooth roots, both holding your denture firmly in place and helping to prevent resorbtion of the jaw bone.
